Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Allow MP3 files to be hosted?

Yes, as long as you are the copyright owner of the file or have permission, in writing as proof. If necessary, we may require proof to be given, and if none is provided, we will remove your account.

Do You Allow Adult Web Site Hosting?

Yes, as long as the content is legal, we allow it.

Do You Allow Torrent Sites?

No. There is too much liablity involved with those today. Due to copyright and resource abuse, we are not able to host such sites at this time.

Do You Allow Chat Rooms?

No. Chat rooms are very server intensive and because of this, we can not allow chat rooms to be hosted on our server. You can use off site chat systems, but are not allowed to host any yourself.

Are There Limits on Mail Resources?

You are only allowed to send 350 individual pieces of mail per hour.

Do you make backups?

While our data center makes daily backups, we must stress that it is always the responsiblity of the client to keep current backups of their data. If you need a backup copy reinstalled, there will be a fee charged prior to retrieving the backups.



Web Development FAQs

Ownership and License Agreement

We at Afterbeing.com may be contracted to develop a design, code, or graphic. As this could be the case, we will license our creation to you for your use but retain all rights to the product. This means simply that we remain the copyright holder, and the client is provided the rights to use the finished product. Anything not created by us that was used in the product is specificly not transfered to the client, but instead remain the property of their respective owner.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

This is determined during the initial agreement. Most times, the answer is yes. By making deposit, you are making a financial investment and commitment in the work you are requesting. It is common pratice in web development companies since it keeps interest in the project by both parties.

Do I have to Sign a Contract for Web Services?

Yes. For both our protection and your own, we require a contract to be signed, either physically or electronicly that states the scope of the work required, compensation agreed upon, and various other information related to the job at hand.

What is the Hourly Rate for Afterbeing.com?

The Hourly rate we charge is $27. In many cases, a package plan is better for our clients, but at other times, a straight hourly rate is prefered as it may be a project that simply takes two hours to complete. A minimum of one hour is charged when being done hourly.

Is there any limitation to the 10 pages?

Yes. While our packages allow you to have up to 10 pages developed, this does not open a gate to loading up pages with massive amounts of data. This is abusing the service offered. We will develop your site, but retain the right to develop how we see fit. We aren't going to develop a site and create Myspace in a 10 page web site. This is irresponsible both for the client and the visitors to the web site. The more code involved in a page, the more resources needed to execute and load the page.

What is Rapid Deployment?

Rapid Deployment is an optional service that you can request which will speed up your site development time. By choosing Rapid Deployment, your site recieves a higher priority on our "list of things to do". There will be a higher cost involved in choosing Rapid Deployment, which is why it is an optional service.

My Site is Broken. Fix it!

All of our work includes a 15 day Bug Squash service which means that for 15 days, we will remain under contract to correct any bugs in our provided product as long as there are no changes made by anyone but us within that time frame. This does not include bugs in software not developed by us.

Do You Provide Maintenance?

Yes. Our Package plans include 60 minutes of maintenance free of charge. Any hourly projects will require a web maintenance option, which is currently priced at $15 an hour with a minimum of 1 hour charged. This means that even if the maintenance takes only 10 minutes to complete, we will still charge you $15.
